Do you have regular business hours (when is your nursery open)?
     Yes, our summer hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 9AM-4PM.

Do you guarantee your plants?
    No. We cannot guarantee the care plants receive when they leave our nursery so we cannot guarantee them. However- we are plant lovers. We want them to flourish in their new home. We are more than happy to help with plant selections, provide tips, planting suggestions,  and answer questions to encourage a great outcome. {For example- when some of our seasonal customers want to plant at the end of the season before returning up north- we suggest they come see us the next fall when they will be able to regularly water their new plants. Our early summer can be dry and hot -very harsh conditions for plants newly planted if they are not being watered daily. We would rather postpone a sale, save a plant, and retain a customer than make a quick deal.}

Can you tell me what's wrong with a plant in my yard?
    Probably. We are happy to answer questions no matter where you bought the plant. Sometimes its helpful to snap a photo or bring a sample of the leaves. CAUTION: Samples should be in a closed plastic bag to prevent spreading any possible disease or bug from the ailing plant to healthy ones. There are also other resources located under our Links page. You may be able to email a photo to the extension office and have your question answered promptly by their master gardeners.

What does "grafted" mean?
    Plants/Trees may grow from seeds, cuttings, air layering, or grafts to name a few. If a plant or tree is grafted it simply means it is not growing on its original rootstock- rather a part of a mature tree was attached to other roots.
    "Why?" you ask. A plant or tree may be grafted for multiple reasons. Typically it is to ensure the best performance, production, and prosperity of a plant/tree.
    -A young plant will bear fruit earlier, because it does not recognize its true age. Examples are avocado and citrus. Grafted trees will bear fruit much earlier than if trying to rear a plant from seed. Non-grafted Avocados that are grown from seed may take 8-10 years to produce fruit. This is why we only sell grafted avocados.
    -Some plants are susceptible to fungus, etc. that may live in our soil. Citrus roots are especially vulnerable and that is another reason only grafted citrus should be planted outdoors. (We do sell some non-grafted lemons and limes that will fruit in pots-they are from mature cutting and not seedlings.)
